An interactive outdoor totem for city marketing
With five interactive outdoor touchscreens from pilot Screentime, the port city of Eckernförde is catapulting its tourism marketing into the 21st century. All tourist information is bundled on the interactive ‘Info-Points’ and can be transferred from there to visitors’ smartphones.

Eckernförder Touristik & Marketing GmbH can upload digital advertising, videos and images to the outdoor totems, define their display period and edit the content. In addition, numerous real-time editorial content including shopping tips, tourism highlights, weather and accommodation are automatically made available in bite-sized screen and mobile friendly formats.
A night mode dims the totems as soon as the sun goes down, which is linked to sunrise and sunset times. This saves energy and protects the neighbourhood from unnecessary light pollution. The full range of functions of the ‘Info-Points’ remains available even at night.
An on-screen software button allows wheelchair users to switch to a wheelchair accessible version with a single click, ensuring that all functions can be easily accessed.
